My cat keeps a blog too--some people prefer it.
In my journal I write about:
  • my daily life as a 37 year old single astrophysicist
  • my work on the UV and X-ray astrophysics of neutron star systems
  • fundamental physics questions like the "it from bit" idea and loop quantum gravity
  • wigging out dancing to dumb '80s pop songs like Rock Lobster.

I've taught Astronomy at Bowling Green State University, The Claremont Colleges in California (the lecture notes are linked from the calendar) and Cultural Physics (the calendar again links to lecture notes) at The College of Wooster in Ohio.

I've done research at Harvard, MIT, and NASA.

I love the music of Beethoven and Prokofiev, but also listen to obscure rock and dance to 80s hits.

My e-mail address is bram.boroson@gmail.com.

I was partly named after Bram Stoker, who wrote Dracula. I was also named for Abraham Babchin, father of my great-uncle Semore. The name rhymes with SPAM. (Nevertheless, I am a vegetarian except for fish.)

Night of the Isms, a story I wrote in 10th grade.

Song lyrics I wrote in grad school.

CTY (Center for Talented Youth) memories.

Derek Gross was my roommate my sophomore year at Oberlin and a friend from CTY. He died of cancer in July, 1996 at the age of 27.
